Marathon time is fast approaching for me and my training is going well. My mileage is up a lot which I planned for the next two weeks, then the last two weeks I will back of the miles but keep some intensity. As for now I’m getting a good average pace for the month so far, I’m still putting in the steady miles but my speed work and my long marathon pace runs have increased so I’m getting a good idea of what times I’m looking at, that being said, as long as it’s not too hot. This week has been a mix of some sunny hill repeats 12k, and some 10k’s at my marathon pace also some nice easy runs mixed in.
I’m managing to get two one day rests in the week which works for me, if I have a two-day break I’m not to keen on getting out the door and my legs turn in to lead. I’m off to Harrogate on Sunday for a 10k which I’m planning to just run at a tempo pace, I’ll have to tell myself no racing. I’ve also looked at doing another European run for later in the year. I’ve seen a well-reviewed marathon in October which is in Lisbon? Has anyone done that one? I have to see what else is available at the back end of the year, for now best focus on getting around the Unicef Genève Marathon in a good time, I hope everyone is well and all is going ok with you..
